Building my teardrop
Well, I found another design that I liked. I still highly recommend that for at least your first attempt, you use some good plans. This time, I am going to go with the "Weekender" design by Mike Schneider. I will be building it for a second camper once the Cubby is completed. The reason I decided to go with this one is the size. The Weekender is essentially a 4x10' teardrop with a boxier design. I still recommend going with The Kuffel Creek plans if you want to stick with the traditional teardrop design. I have modified the plans somewhat to do away with the hatch. Why you might ask? Well, once I began building, I had some setbacks that kept me out of the garage for months. Once I got close to a year on the build, I decided that I wanted to get this finished ASAP so that I could start on one that my wife and I could use.

In order to cause problems for the people selling these old articles, I am posting as many old plans as I can for free. If you're going to spend money and the magazine still exists, order a reprint direct from the publisher. Don't pay some con man on the Internet.

Disclaimer: This website documents my adventure of building a teardrop. If you choose to utilize any of the techniques that I did, check with a mechanical engineer or another informed person to make sure they are mechanically sound. In other words, use at your own risk. I will not be held liable if you follow what I did and something or someone breaks. Remember, if it breaks, you own both pieces.
Some of the plans here are vintage publications offered for reference use only. If you attempt to build a camper from these, you assume all risks from your actions. The assumption is that either the original copyright holder has released them into the Public Domain or the copyright has expired. If this is not the case, and they are posted incorrectly, please notify me and I will immediately remove them.
